FROZEN YOGURT CUP HEALTHY RECIPE

Could not wait to share this easy and delicious healthy snack for kids recipe!

Fruity and refreshing, these homemade yogurt cups make for great breakfasts, snacks, or fun desserts for the little ones. Imagine your kid thinking you’re letting them eat ice cream for breakfast!

To make these you only need 2 simple ingredients that you easily have at home. You can swap the fresh fruit for other toppings or you can add extra toppings. Whatever your (or your child’s) heart desires!

MATERIALS:

  1. Yogurt. Any works, I used whole milk vanilla yogurt. You can even use dairy-free yogurt or if you’re worried about added sugar, plain yogurt or plain Greek yogurt.

  2. Varied fruits

  3. Mold (Cupcake liners work well. You could also use a muffin tin.)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Fill the cupcake molds or muffin cups about 1/2 - 3/4 way up

  2. Add some fruit on top

  3. Freeze overnight

  4. Remove cupcake mold and enjoy

Toppings frozen yogurt

BERRIES

Fresh or frozen berries make great toppings for frozen yogurt! My favorites include strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.

TROPICAL FRUIT

You can mix things up by adding tropical fruit like pineapple, mango, bananas, coconut, or papaya. These fruits are loaded with vitamin C and pack a super flavorful punch.

NUT BUTTER

For a healthy, kid-friendly sweet and salty flavor combination, try adding peanut butter or almond butter.

Here’s a neat trick: Put 1-2 tablespoons of nut butter in a microwave-safe dish, then warm it in the microwave for 10-20 seconds. It’ll soften the nut butter and allow you to drizzle it over the frozen yogurt.

NUTS

Nuts are perfect for topping frozen yogurt, just be sure to chop them first. Peanuts, almonds, and walnuts taste best with fro-yo!

DARK CHOCOLATE

Adding chocolate is an easy way to get your kids excited about trying new snack recipes. Opting for dark chocolate over milk chocolate boosts the nutritional value without taking away the fun.

GRANOLA

Top your frozen yogurt with store-bought or homemade granola to add a flavorful crunch and even more nutrition. Frozen yogurt granola cups are delicious on their own, but they’re really good with berries, nuts, and other toppings mixed in too.

SPRINKLES

What child doesn’t love sprinkles!? There are so many different kinds to choose from, it takes seconds to add them to a recipe, and it instantly gets your little one excited about the food in front of them.
