MAKE COLORFUL MOVING WATER
MAKE COLORFUL MOVING WATER
Okay, this activity is SERIOUSLY cool. I really have no explanation other than it’s pure magic! The colored water droplets glide around parchment paper perfectly! This can turn into the perfect color match and color mix activity, plus some fine motor skill practice with the toothpick! My kiddos absolutely love it, and I can see why. The gleam in their eyes as they watch the magic is just priceless.
Honestly, this toddler activity is as amazing to me as it is to my little ones! I love watching the little drops of colored water slide through the paper and stick to the toothpick. Imagine your little ones’ surprised faces when they see it in action! Trust me, you’ll think it’s just the best. This activity is fun for all ages.

MORE FUN Sensory Play With Water
BLACK WATER SENSORY PLAY
Black water sensory play is cool because it’s super engaging and visually stimulating. The dark water is made easily (and safely) using black food coloring. Kids can explore how objects look in the dark water, adding a cool twist to traditional water play.
FLOAT YOUR BOAT
This simple yet effective water play idea is all about creating small boats out of aluminium and watching them float. With this float your boat activity, can experiment with different shapes and sizes, learning about buoyancy. This is a fun way to introduce little ones to the concept of floatation while encouraging creativity and problem-solving as they design their boats.
WATER BEADS EXPLORATION
Water beads are small, squishy, gel-like balls that kids can squeeze, roll, and explore. They’re great for tactile experiences and can be added to any water activity. They’re visually interesting and come in different colors, shapes, and sizes. Just make sure you keep an eye on your little one while playing with them as they’re dangerous when swallowed.
ICE CUBE SENSORY PLAY
Using ice cubes for sensory play is a fun and refreshing way to explore textures, temperatures, and even colors. You can freeze small toys or colored liquids in ice cubes, and pop them in water as they gradually melt.
WATERFALL SENSORY PLAY
Create a small waterfall using household materials like plastic materials or a homemade funnel to pour water. Children love to watch the flow of the water as it cascades down.

Water balloon toss
A fun and simple water activity for kids is the good old water balloon toss. All you need are some water balloons and a group of kids. Have them pair up and stand facing each other, starting with a short distance between them. The goal is to toss the water balloon back and forth without popping it. After each successful toss, they take a step back to make the challenge harder. It’s a great way to keep kids cool, active, and engaged while building coordination and teamwork! All essential things they will need throughout life!
Make water play a fun, sensory adventure!
Water sensory play is not only a fun and engaging activity, but it also helps children develop essential motor skills, creativity, and understanding of cause and effect. How awesome is that?! So next time you need a creative way to keep the little ones entertained, grab some water and let the fun begin!
